Brandi, Anonymous, Shawn and Santini I have a sneaky suspicion that you guys are part of the Micro Center family, therefore I must discount you horrendous responses. It appears English composition 101 was not you strongest class at school. Remember the first thing you were taught, was to read and understand the subject matter then respond as to the question put forward. Stick to the subject matter. From reading your responses you seem to want me punished for loosing my child. This happens every day, and I am not the first and won’t be the last to suffer this. After all we are human. What is funny and it does reaffirm my earlier point. That you are somehow connected to Microcenter. And are trashing me just to distract from the issue being discussed. Must I repeat myself?

Just so we are all on the same page.

Mass General law Chapter 268

Section 40 provides “Whoever knows that another person is a victim of aggravated rape, rape, murder, manslaughter or armed robbery and is at the scene of said crime shall, to the extent that said person can do so without danger or peril to himself or others, report said crime to an appropriate law enforcement official as soon as reasonably practicable.

Section 13. No person who, in good faith, provides or obtains, or attempts to provide or obtain, assistance for a victim of a crime as defined in section one, shall be liable in a civil suit for damages as a result of any acts or omissions in providing or obtaining, or attempting to provide or obtain, such assistance unless such acts or omissions constitute willful, wanton or reckless conduct.

True there was still a chance that the child is just lost in the store, but there is still a greater chance she might be in danger! The store staff must in good faith respond to the request for help. Their first thoughts would be” I will not get involved, I might get in trouble or be held responsible” That was a failure of the management, simply instructing the staff to assist would be the best course of action . I did speak to a senior manager at corporate headquarters. And they agreed that the staff should have taken a better approach to handling the issue.

Pity such a great Brand "˜ lousy staff.

Let me explain!.

I traveled a good distance to shop at the Cambridge , MA store. My intention was to purchase a desktop and note book. Around $2500 total. I was at the store with my seven year old daughter. And she always stays tight to me. So to my surprise she wandered off or disappeared, at the time I would not have known.

I took a quick walk around the area I was in and called out her name several times. No sign of her. I approached three separate staff members( all wearing name plates) and requested respectfully if they could help locate my daughter. All three refused and said they were busy with other matters and I should locate a manager.

My daughter did return to the area several minutes later and we promptly exited the store that supports pedophiles, and their endeavors'.

Monetary Loss: $1.

Location: Canton, Massachusetts

I'll bet the op likes yelp. Notes:

Op says:"My daughter stays tight to me" except she didn't.

She dissapeared immediately and op clearly wasn't watching or it wouldn't have happened.

Op says:"There was a chance the child might be lost in the store but there is an even greater chance she might be in danger." As she admitted her child was just wandering. Where did she get her "Greater chance" idea. The danger to a wandering child in a very public store like this is small. The chance of a child merely being lost when a parent isn't paying attention is high.

Op says: "Many people disagree with me.

They must all be part of the Microcenter family." Op is clearly self centered and delusional.

In Cambridge I would never take my eyes off a child of this age unless I had a firm grip on his/her hand. Back home it is different but when I get out of the car in Cambridge I announce "City rules! Everyone hold someones hand." My children are not city kids.

They don't understand the risks. That's my job.

Op clearly is not to be trusted with children. Unfortunately you see thousands just like her posting on yelp every day.

Oh PLEASE!! It would've been nicer for them to help you, but to make the leap to them being a "store that supports pedophiles"

is reallllly ***.

I have no idea what would be the standard response for a busy clerk in any given store...

I will give you that maybe the clerk should've called the manager for you themselves.

You had an incident that scared you.

Is it really worth trying to trash a good company? And no, I have no connection with MC except as an occasional customer.

Typical Liberal looking for somebody else to take over their responsabilities

Guest

Not Microcenters job to watch your kid, it is yours! Looks like your not very good at it maybe you should be reported to child services

Guest

I think you should change the title of this to "My Parenting is Dangerous for Kids".

Guest

In all fairness, the store should have a lockdown policy. Its very simple and anyone with knowledge of the inner workings of a computer could figure it out.

Usually a "code" number over the intercom. Bring it up at the next safety meeting and stop *** about whose to blame.

Guest

watch your child more closely! She is YOUR responsibility, not the general public's!! You sound like someone who never takes responsibility for their own shortcomings or failures.

Guest

OP: Guess what, YOU, not the manager or the staff are responsible for your child. I've reviewed many complaints and while many of them seem legit and productive, I have to say your's is one of the most insane I've seen.

You go quoting MA general law, giving the appearance that something happened, even though your daughter returned minutes later.

You complain that the staff and managers didn't drop everything they were doing to move heaven and earth to find your child that YOU lost track of, as if THEY are the ones to blame and not YOU. And then you compound your lunacy by calling the managers and staff "pedophiles"...

I swear, it never ceases to amaze me how *** and selfish some people are, whether its the *** of an OP of this thread, or others...

The same would hold true wherever you go with your daughter. Young people do not always heed their parents.

This is a fact of life. Micro Center has thousands of items that catch everyone's imagination. It is possible and natural your daughter might see something of interest and read the label or ask questions going off on her own not thinking her being away from your side for a moment has the potential of being dangerous to her or would cause you such stress. Exploring is part of the learning process which is a good thing.

Hope she never looses that. Bear in mind that wherever you go with her, you are her guardian, not the people around you. It is your responsibility to be aware of your surroundings and her proximity to you. If you want to play hard ball, think what would happen if the Division of Children Services became involved.

You could conceivable loose your daughter. They are renowned for having the least flexibility and understanding and they wield the power of God in their decisions backed by the State. Take responsibility, train your daughter to be considerate of you in these situations. Explain the reasons to her so she understands there are real potential dangers out there.

She has to learn to be aware and understanding of her surroundings as well. By the way. This communication and obedience does not take place overnight. It is a long term learning process based on love and patience.

PS. I am not associated with Micro Center but have been a customer for many years and understand how someone's imagination can run wild in that store.

Guest

Well if your daughter wasn't such a little *** in the making you wouldn't have this problem, would you.

Guest

You people need to keep your crotch-spawn at home if you can't train them properly to act in public.

OP is liar. Look at this: Lie #1: "And she always stays tight to me" yet she didn't, so there's a lie.

I stopped reading there. Lame OP, lame. YOU are responsible for raising YOUR child.

I don't remember taking part in making the kid, so I sure as heck am not going to help raise it. That's on YOU to watch your kid.

Guest

I don't work for Micro Center and can honestly say that this is the stupidest thing I've ever read in my entire life. When your kid winds up floating face down in a swimming pool because you were harassing a store on the internet instead of watching them, good luck trying to pin the blame on the pool.

I worked in a Microcenter many customers do not pay attention to their children. I am not saying this is the case for this customer but after seeing many cases of horrible parenting and being expected to look after other peoples children for almost no pay I can see how its hard to worry if someones kid wandered off.

I had a customer open a bag of skittles feed one to the child less than 2 year old in the top part of the kart put the opened back down and walk off with little explanation other than I forgot some stuff. It took them well over thirty minutes to return, I was horrified. The top of the cart is a very unsafe place to leave a child unattended so I fed her more skittles and moved closer to the cart to make sure in all her squirming she would not fall out. I did not want to move the chart or the child though and deal with an upset customer over that either..

People are becoming increasingly less good partents.

I had peoples children demand things of them and them cave in I would have never been this disrespectful as a child. Also many people let their kids open/play with// break whatever items they want then get mad if we asked them not to touch things they should not be, get off stacks of items or suggested they paid for damaged software.

OP has a crazy obsession with pedophiles. Maybe Sheamus8812 was victimized by a *** when younger, and or possibly IS a *** and thinks other people would do the same things. Also OP says she was directed to a manager. Why would Sheamus8812 have not taken this opportunity, rather than say I lost my kid, and no one offered help. I've never had a situation like this where I work, maybe our customers just pay attention to their children? If you weren't serious enough to talk to the manager, as the employee suggested, why would anyone believe you or your daughter were in any danger.

In regards to Chapter 268 as well as section 13 that were quoted. Both of these have to do with a crime that is/was in progress. You have still failed to support these with the accusation of any person committing any crime. or is there something I missed?

Please in the future. Keep an eye on your child, and if you feel she is in danger exhaust all options given to you. You can't blame the employee for not helping you, if he/she did by directing you to a manager. what did the manager have to say about it?

In the end, you are accusing the same people that you asked to help find your kid, of being pedophiles. How does that work logically?

I am happy nothing happened to your kid. I really hope your views of society don't cause any harm on her in the future. I also think you might want to talk to a professional about your issues with pedophiles. You want to ensure your way of thinking doesn't cause harm to yours or anyone else's children.

MicroCenter or any other store has Z.E.R.O. responsibility to your or anyone else's children.

Guest

I want to know where in this story is the part about a ***, was your kid taken mby an employee and raped int the stock room? did you find dirty pictures of your daughter that had obviously been taken in the printer isle?

I also have a kid, and I also shop at microcenter, I WATCH my kid instead of ignoring her, it goes a long way. trust me if they were pedos theyd have no problem searching for your kid so you dont have to... and your kid wouldnt have jsut wondered back either...

shed be victim to someone laying injured in the back room. parents like you should not be allowed to raise your children.

Guest

Wow really?

The only thing I read was "I am not a bad mother! It has to be somebody else's fault! Oh I know I will blame the store. They are the ones responsible for watching my child. Computer Store = babysitter"

This is how it all starts. This lady is going to raise her kid believing the same garbage she does. People like this will never end.

Guest

Did I make that many spelling mistakes, to warrant such a vicious response.By the way you said "off of " who is kiding who. I suspect you work for Micro Center i did not know they hired ***'s. Are you enjoying talking about kids.Dirty Boy!
